July 2 — No program this week, but stop by the library to check out more books!

July 9  — 1:00 (ages 4-6)  — Children’s Education Theater presents “Giggleworms & Silly Bug Songs,a musical song presentation designed to teach young children about facing their fear of bugs through music, finger play, puppetry and audience participation.  Children are invited to come dressed as their favorite bug.

July 9 — 2:30 (ages 7-12) —  Children’s Education Theater presents “The Ugly Bug Ball.”  Long ago and far away in an ancient land there lived a bug named BUG ELLA. She lived with her 2 very ugly stepsisters, Centipede and Millipede and a very wicked step mother, Lady Tarantula. Every day BUG ELLA was forced to do chores while her two ugly stepsisters teased her and called her names. Meanwhile, across town in the bug castle, Bug King Bo Weevil determines that his son, Prince Firefly should find a suitable bride and provide him with a required number of grandchildren. So, the King invites every eligible maiden bug in the kingdom to the Ugly Bug Ball, where his son will be able to choose his bride.  Accompanied with several bug funny songs, beautiful scenery and a little magic provided by BUG ELLA’s fairy godmother, BUG ELLA changes from being an ugly bug to a beautiful butterfly.

July 16 — 1:00 (ages 4-6); 2:30 (ages 7-12) — Southeastern Raptor Center from Auburn University.  See an eagle, owls, a hawk, a falcon and a vulture up close.  Learn about their habitats and rehabilitation.
**READING LOGS ARE DUE TODAY BY 7:00 PM!!  This deadline is necessary in order to have the T-shirts in time for the party.  You will not receive a T-shirt if your reading log does not list at least 15 books or if your reading log is returned after the deadline.  Please do not return reading logs in the book drop.

July 23 — 1:00 (ages 4-6); 2:30 (ages 7-12) — Bill Haley from the Tennessee Aquarium presents “Creepy Crawlies.” Do bugs “bug” you?  Do you shudder at the thought of a slithery snake?  Do spiders give you “the creeps”?  Meet several creepy crawly animals “eye-to-eye” and learn all about them so they won’t be quite as scary.

July 30 — 1:00 (ages 4-6); 2:30 (ages 7-12) — PARTY!!  If you submitted your reading log listing at least 15 books by July 16th, you’re invited to join us at RBC Community Center for our annual party.  Enjoy the magic of Archie Wade and refreshments provided by the Rainbow City Lions Club.  T-shirts and certificates will be awarded.  Please register at the circulation desk in July if you plan to attend.
