Storytime
 

Storytime is held on Wednesdays at 1:30 p.m. during most of the school year for children ages 4-6 years old.  Programs usually last about 30 minutes and feature stories, songs, and crafts.  For additional information please contact the Library.

3-year-old Storytime is held on Thursdays at 1:30p.m. during most of the school year.  Programs usually last about 20 minutes and include stories, fingerplays, and songs.

Storytime Calendars are available at the circulation desk.
 

Spring storytimes end May 7th & 8th
Fall storytimes will resume in September.

 

Rainbow Reading Buddies

This program is designed to instill a love of reading as well as promote library use among preschoolers.  A parent, grandparent, or even an older sibling can serve as a "Reading Buddy" for a preschool child.  The program involves a commitment to read at least 15 library books together per month.  Each month that this goal is met, the child gets to pick a prize from our special "Treasure Chest."   Registration is required.
 

Summer Reading Program

Rainbow City Public Library sponsors an annual Summer Reading Program for children ages 4-12.  There are weekly programs planned each summer and participants who complete the program are invited to a special party where they enjoy food and entertainment and are awarded free T-shirts, certificates, and other goodies.  Registration is required and usually begins in mid-May.  

Programs are free and open to all who meet the requirements.
