"Be Creative" Program Rules

The “Be
Creative” Summer Reading Program is open to all children ages 4-12
who have a Rainbow City Public Library card in good standing.
Children who do not meet the requirements for a free library card
may be issued a library card by paying a $10.00 out-of-county fee.
This fee is due on an annual basis. To participate in the program,
you must fill out the Summer Reading Program Application and
return it to the library by Tuesday, June 30th.
Record the
library books you read on your “Be Creative @ Your Library”
reading log BEFORE you return your books to the library. You
may
list the title, an abbreviated title, or the library barcode
number of the book you have read. Books must be read between May
11th and July 15th. Only books checked out from Rainbow City
Public Library will be counted. Audiobooks may not be counted.
You will earn a
free t-shirt and be invited to attend the Summer Reading Program
Party on July 29th provided you read at least 15 library books and
return your completed reading log listing at least 15 books by
7:00 pm on Wednesday, July 15th. This deadline is necessary so the
T-shirts will arrive in time for the party.
 If you fail to
turn in your reading log by 7:00pm on Wednesday, July 15th, or
fail to list at least 15 books on your reading log, you will not
receive a T-shirt.
Before you turn
in your reading log, make sure you have listed at least 15 books
and that your correct name, phone number, library card number, and
T-shirt size are listed on the back of your reading log.
Your reading
log must be returned to the designated “Reading Log” box. Do not
return your completed reading log in the book drop or to the
library staff.
If you are
unable to pick up your T-shirt at the party, please pick it up as
soon as possible. T-shirts will not be given out prior to the
parties. T-shirts that are not picked up by September 30, 2009
will be forfeited. |
